Press and Hold the 'Control' key as you click each item you want to
delete. Once you have them all selected (Highlighted) press the
'Delete' key. You will be asked if you're sure before the files are
deleted, and when they are removed you can find them in the 'Recycle
Bin' where you can 'Restore' them if needed.
Using the 'Shift' key instead of the 'Control' key you can select
multiple items quickly. Simply click the mouse on the first item (while
holding the 'Shift' key), then click the last item. All items between
the first and last will be selected and can be deleted by using the
'Delete' key. You can also use a combination of the 'Shift' and
'Control' keys for selecting items.
You can also use the mouse. Just hold the left mouse button down and
drag it to form a box around the items you want to select, let go of
the button when they are selected and press Delete.
A good place to start is...
Start>Run>Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs
You can uninstall lots of programs here.
If you are trying to delete, lets say a bunch of files at once, here are some useful shortcuts.
Ctrl+Click will highlight everything you click on then you can hit delete once.
Click one item then Hold Shift+Click to select all files inbetween your first and last click.
Drag a box with the left mouse button to highlight multiple icons/files then hit delete.
