Adding RAM Sony VAIO VGC RB30 This computer has 512M RAM now using 2 of 4 RAM slots. I want to upgrade it to 2G RAM which is the max. Can I take out the 2 256M RAM chips and replace it with a single 2G RAM or do I need to do it as a pair of 1G RAM chips?
If it has 4 slots and supports 2Gb max with 2 slots currently populated with 2 x 256mb chips you'll need to remove both those chips and install 4 x 512mb chips to reach the max of 2 Gb.
