I need to replace my antenna on my Grundig S350DL shortwave radio. Where can I purchase a new antenna?

1. run 18 gauge wire (buy in auto parts shelf), after stripping plastic (about 1/2 inch) away from wire inside. Clip where RED clip is, on back of radio. Need about 6 to 10 feet. Run wire in upwards direction from radio. At other end of wire, strip enough to make small loop back onto itself. (terminates the wire.) Run another length of same wire from BLACK clip on back of radio, strung along floor of room - 6 feet, maybe. Yes, hide it if it does not please somebody's eyes. Now, you have an AM external antenna.
2. Go to E-Bay, "slinkyantennas". They have a very good-looking, and performs for DX'ing antenna. Use same wire from RED clip, stripped, for alligator clip from 'slinky' shop's antenna to grab hold.

--With s350dl (NPR version-before major t-storm did kaputs, learned good lesson ... always use batteries, not A/C), and slinky pvc-style antenna with ground wire, was able from Central Louisiana, to pick up KOA from Denver!

Replacement is possible, the back of the radio needs to come off and there is a screw at the bottom of the antenna. Remove this and the old one will slide out and simple to install new one. Call Eton for replacement, can be foung with a google search....

Simple wire can make a great antenna, and it's relatively inexpensive. I've had the best shortwave and AM reception thus far using a long loop (actually a rectangle) of copper wire as an antenna (but folks shouldn't try a loop with some radios designed for use with powered antennas without inserting an appropriate capacitor in series). If you do try wire, you would want to try to make the loop shape as large as possible, and connect the ends of the wire to your radio's antenna connectors.
