I own a logitech keyboard/mouse combo model number Y-RR54 which i use
when i'm at home and such for my laptop. I recently relocated and
after i unpacked my keyboard and tried to connect, it didn't work. I
thought maybe the batteries had died, but then I tried new ones to no
avail. Then I noticed something strange, the Function light on the
mouse dock lit up when I hit the Function key and all of the other
extra keys (like play, scroll, etc) worked fine.
It seems the keyboard itself is not working and I'm not sure what to do to fix it!
Also, I bought it from a friend who had previously opened it up so it's
no longer under warranty! EEP! and now my key for the letter after
"u" just broke on my laptop... help please.
I was just about to post that I have the same problem (keys not working on Y-RR54 except scroll, F Mode, etc.) But as I was posting, my keyboard started working. Here's how:
Keep your Y-RR54 connected and hook up another keyboard. WIth the other keyboard, go to Logitech.com and go to their Support section. Select your product (Keyboard and Mouse Combo -> LX700) and then go to Downloads. Download the latest Logitech Setpoint software and install it to your machine. Make sure the Y-RR54 is connected to the receiver before you install. The latest version as of this message is 4.70.213. Let it go through the install, and when you get to the program, click "My Keyboard" and it will make you go through a "Secure Connection" process. After this process was over, my keyboard worked just fine. I'm typing from it right now.
Pls install keyboard testing utility and press keys one by one,if there pressed keys not release you can find it and remove cap and fix.

No response from keys in and mouse the middle of a writing exercise. Batteries replaced to no avail, Scroll button still reacting. Trials to re-connect with base unsucessfull except for the mouse that returned to normal. Keyboard still under warranty, but it was a gift, I dont have the bill and I moved 10.000 km since!
