How old is the cuff? If it has written on it "single use" and you've been using it a while you may have microleaks which means you need a new cuff. Also, check the hose for holes (usually found where the hose splits and connects to the cuff). Last, check the Dinamap to hose connector are the black orings still on the connecting posts?

Critikon/Ge utilizes the oscillitory method for determining NIBP. In other words, it pressurizes the cuff, stabilizes, decreases pressure slightly, stabilizes, etc. so a leak in the cuff or hose won't allow the pressure to stabilize resulting in an E83 error.

Just had the E83 go fof today due to the battery being low but not completely depleted. If the battery light was on when you tried to inflate and the battery is wearing out you can get the E83.

For me, just swapped out all old cuffs and changed the battery, but I still am getting the E83
