I had the same screen that looked like the Blue Screen of Death, but with the distorted letters & numbers. The root cause for me was one of my RAM chips was bad. Take one out and see if that prevents the screen from returning. If it does return, put that chip back in and take out the other one. If the blue screen does not return, you should get your RAM exchanged if it's still under warranty. In my case, they needed both chips since they both came as a single package.

I have the same problema nd no, you can't restore it because it will not stay on that long. It just keeps trying to reboot and start in safe mode, but when you try to it starts all ocer again.
