I have windows xp. I have loaded the fujitsu fi-4220c scanner software. Under scanners and cameras it shows the scanner. However, when I try to run adobe or windows scan, the scanner does not show up in the drop box scanner list. When the scanner was first plugged in, the computer recognized it and had me restart.

Check in the order as i had written.

1. Is both the scanners are connected in usb, then this problem will arise. Connect fujistu in scsi and check it. And connect only the cannon and check. because there is a chance of usb port or usb cable problem.

2. Then it depends up on the driver you are selecting. whether you may be selecting fujitsu and giving scan .

3. Check is the driver for cannon is properly installed and also have a check in the device manager is there is any question mark is showing in the driver for particular scanner.

4. If you are using any certain application like scandall application you can select the scanner whichyou want it to scan by selecting the SELECT SCANNER.

5. Is your driver is a new version. If new version is available then update the driver and check it out.

The problem is not just to roll over, be changed and separation pad. These two components change very easily and boxes that are delivered and indications for replacement.
These are the codes for parts:
Pad Assembly - Part Number: PA03289-0111
Pick Roller - Part Number: PA03289-0001
After replacement counters to be reset for each Pieces. Open the scanner properties.

Usually have to display a maintenance message on the computer display, such as: separation pad should be replaced.

If there is to scan any messages like that, you have to clean the sensors around the separation pad. They are round and are getting a little inside. Click on the blue button at the top of the ADF and open the lid.

You can connect the scanner to a Linux Saned Server and access it ac a network device from any Windows. I recomend the use of a sheevaplug device for that purpose.
To access a "sane" device from Windows, use www.xsane.org. For Java progs there are several libraries available - eg "morena" or "jsane" or "JSane-net" (hosted on sourceforge).
