On a dual battery system can one battery drain the other battery.

When one battery is new and the other is old, the older battery with lower volts will always draw from the newer battery with higher volts. (When they are connected via the solenoid) The two batteries always want to equalize their state of charge. yes the weaker tries to charge of the good one draining it. replace both batteries should be the same size
tip

Prolong cellular battery life

Always allow your mobile phone's battery to drain before charging it. Let it warn "battery low" at least three times before you can charge. charging in-between before battery is drained, shortens the battery life gradually.
this is from a personal experience.

After new battery put in, battery is dead in a few days.

When you shut down the car some circuit in the car is using current at an excessive rate so as to drain the battery. To repair you need to locate the source of drain. You can do this by connecting an ammeter to the car battery and while the car is turned off monitor the amperage reading. You will see a draw. Then pull fuses, one at a time, till you see the drain virtually disappear. Now you have identified the circuit that is responsible for draining your battery. If you cannot fix it, at least you know where the hassle is and you can always pull that fuse when you leave the car unattended for a few days so that the battery is not drained. If getting to the fuse is a hassle you can always replace the fuse with some wiring and a switch that you place in the glove box and all you do is turn the switch off when you remove the key. Presto - cheap fix!!!!!!

"it always dies if it dont drive it for 3 days or more,"

Sounds like you have a constant drain on your battery -- when engine is off the drain kills the battery. That cause is almost always very difficult to find.

" wondering if there is a specific battery I should be looking for"

In terms of the type battery, no kind is going to withstand a constant drain (if you have one) -- I'd just get whatever battery they look up at the parts store.

Battery Drain in MP3

I have seen these - set your device so that there is no back-lighting. Then go buy a NiCad rechargeable battery set (comes with charger and usually 4 batteries) they are really cheap lately at Big Lots , Radio Shack , Walmart, etc. These should last at least a full day. If they aren't - go exchange yours, because there is something wrong with it. Good Luck!!!
