Problem: I have a Sharp AR-M277 Printer/Fax/Copier...the code is no longer the default 00000...I need to reconfigure the Baud on the Fax to 9600, to allow for Faxing via VoIP, but without the Key Operator Code, the machine denies me access to the "Fax Settings". Question: How can I reset the "Key Operator Code" to the default 00000

SOURCE: How do I change baud rate to 9600 on Epson CX9400Fax?

This fax speed is 33.6 or 33600
You can change settings to 14.4 or 14400 but not to 9.6 or 9600.
Under: Fax Settings you have this choices:
Speed Dial Setup
Scan and print setup
Communication
Header and time

Under Communication:
DRD
ECM - error correction put this one: off
V.34 - this one is for speed: on - 34400; off - 14400

SOURCE: need to reset key operator code on Sharp AR-287

Make sure the copier is in "copy" mode.
To get into service mode press the following keys one after the other "P" key - "interupt" key - "clear" key - "interupt" key (do not play around with setting in service mode as this can render your copier useless)
enter 22 and press "start" enter "7" and press start. This should display the admin code.
Restart the copier and you should be good to go.

SOURCE: Reset Error Code F6-10 for Sharp AR-M277

This code is communication problem between the machine and fax board... The battery on the fax board will need to be replaced.

Usually turning off your machine will make this go away,
for awhile.
Sometimes preventing your machine from going into Sleep Mode also helps.

The Fax Battery is much like the CMOS battery in a computer.
A large round thin battery, (much like a watch battery)
To replace this, the fax board has to be removed, The battery is Soldered to the Board, you have to unsolder the battery, then solder the new battery to the fax board, then reinstall fax board, then set jumpers on fax board. Turn machine on, do some simulation settings, turn machine off, remove jumper from fax board. Then restart, hopefully you will not have to reset the county code.

Unless your experienced with this, do yourself a favor and call a tech..
