Is this a common problem. Mine went blank yesterday with the F2 message. Can you boot it from the bios??? If so, how? I am going to take it to a shop when I can, I don't know much about these notebooks. Eee Machine900A notebook would not open yesterday. It has a black screen with a message at the bottom about F2, I got into some things with instructions (did not write them down and can't remember what they said), I tried to click on some of them but it wouldn't let me. Is there anything I can do?

It is telling you it could not process past BIOS to get to the windows power shell(windows actual operating system). If you do not have the factory windows disks follow the prompt and keep tapping F2 up and down until you see a window appear with usually options such as open from cd rom or hard disk.If you are not computer literate at this point power down the system and wait 20 seconds and power it back up while at the same time pushing the F8 key . This is considered SAFE MODE...can produce a list as well of options but look for -continue in safe mode- when you enter the computer will continue to windows powershell and will open to your main screen ..things will look a little different but it will function normally..when you are on go to the control panel and look for devices and click it...it will populate a list of everything your computer needs to run ...if you see something in the list with yellow triangles red exclamation marks..these are things that must be addressed..in order to correct the problem..At this point it is usually drivers have been lost to devices...but why? Usually you will find it is because of some crazy spyware or malware..which has infected your windows directory..if you have an Antivirus program run it ASAP..if not you can have one installed at a computer shop along wit h a complete new operating system which is the worse case scenario..40 to 60.00...easiest option get on the web and type FREE avg or avast and download it then run it...hope this helps some how...good luck
