I own a One-for-All universal remote control (model URC-4220) ,and my booklet says that the setup code for a LG TV (without a built-in DVD or VCR) is either 0178 or 1265.

Did select CABLE in the channel scan setting, it should have AIR/CABLE setting so it can look for the cable signal or off the air (antenna) signal.
If you have the setting correctly setup, then the tuner circuits may have gone out. Some TV has the tuner on the main board, it can be expensive to replace the whole main board assembly.

Or www.digikey.com, just make sure to use caps with low ESR, 105c, high ripple current and long life rating such as PANASONIC FM or FC series.
