Memory cards my computer speed is slow only at 512 MB. I have been told that if I have 2 - 256 MB cards that these could be removed and replaced with 2- 500 MB cards to give me 1 G. Is this true and how much money would it cost to do this?

Thanks for the input. I'm very computer illiterate but it seems like you might be saying that with an older system like this it might not be worth the effort or money put into it.
