I have an LG front loading washer, Model WM2050. I washed 2 small area rugs and the backings disintegrated. I cleaned out the tub and gasket, but I am afraid to run the washer for fear I will ruin it further. Is there anything I can do or do I need a service call? Thank you.

I ran an entire cycle and did not have any problems. I don't know if anything will appear down the road though. Thank you for your help.

If the backings disintegrated and you do not see them in the tub, you'll need to check the clean out on the unit, on the bottom-left corner, this cap will unscrew and you can pull out the clean out filter, and see. If you have tons of debris in there, you may have a nasty clog, and most likely didn't make it any further than the clean out. It may have even burned the drain motor out, and that may also need replacement.

I cleaned everything out in the tub. There was really nothing in the clean out filter...is that a good sign?

If you do not see any debris, I'd say give it a shot, try the drain spin option if your LG has that setting, or you can just power the unit on, and hit the spin speed setting, then press start/play.

Post back if it was successful, and you may be good to go.
