Welcome to Fixya. For clarification are you using the same computer that you have used for years? Do you have the same operating system? and after it stop recording and you run it again do you have error message on the screen? Have you tried using the same software to another computer and see if you have the same problem?

Hi,
Welcome to Fixya. It's the issue of compatibility of the program running to Windows 7 specially for the programs that have been release before Windows 7. We can try to change some settings on the computer and check if it will run smoothly.
Have you tried running the software in Compatibility Mode? Depending on your version of Windows 7, you may have the ability to run it in Compatibility Mode. Try right-clicking on the Total Recorder shortcut that is on your Desktop. Then, go to Properties from the pop-up menu. Then, select the Compatibility tab. On that tab, put a check next to "Run the program in compatibility mode for:". Then, select Windows XP SP2. Click on the OK button to save this setting. Finally, try launching the program again. See it if will works just keep me posted on what happen.
If you have questions please let me know. Thanks for using Fixya.

I have been using Windows 7, for as long as it's been out. however, I've used it in the past with Vista and XP with no problem, have no major changes or added any thing that I can think of, that would cause this problem.
In addition, I'm using the same computer, HP Pavillion, I've had it for a couple of years now
There was no error message, on the screen, when I restarted my computer after, after reinstall
