Socket 478 is a very old socket type, it's been around for nearly a decade. The only processors that work with this socket are Intel's Northwood Pentium 4 and Celeron processors, which are now far surpassed in performance. I would definitely recommend buying a new motherboard for whatever you were going to use this one for. If you are set on this motherboard, however, read on.

Many computer hardware companies have stopped carrying Socket 478 processors. You will most likely have to buy one second-hand. A quick search on Amazon will give you a few buying options (all used) for around $20-$30 US.

Due to the age of the processors, you will probably need to purchase a heat sink seperately. This heatsink is $20, will fit Socket 478, and has very good reviews, but of course feel free to use any heatsink as long as it fits Socket 478: http://bit.ly/hk6yZ5

If you also need memory, be sure it is DDR 333/266, as this is the ONLY type of memory that the 2 memory slots on motherboard will take (maximum 2GB of memory). You can find list of DDR 333 memory in varying capacities here: http://amzn.to/fOGbeV
