I keep getting error code 51031 - Nintendo Wii Console

The only wireless network within range of your Wii console is not configured or is not compatible with the Wii.

Check for interference that may be preventing a successful connection.

Check to see if the router you are using is a known to be incompatible.
I recommend using a different router if possible.
Make sure that the SSID (network name) matches exactly to what you have entered in the Wii console's settings. To verify:

Login to your router's settings,
Look for the section for SSID (typically in the "wireless settings" area).
After you find the SSID (network name), verify in the manual settings of the Wii console that the SSID appears exactly as listed in the consumer's router. This includes making sure capitalization, spaces, or special characters match exactly.

Look up your router, if available, in our list of wireless routers, and check for any special notes that may be necessary to get the connection to work properly.

The router may not be assigning an IP address to the Wii console, and a connection using the "Manual Settings" may be necessary.

It is the wep key within your modem or your modems firewall is blocking it. Just go threw your settings and find the wii and allow it threw the firewall.

Hi.

That error code is usually linked to your Wii's MAC address not being added to the MAC accepted list on your router.

To do this it depends on what router you have, but for most, you can have a direct link from your computer to your router.
Open a internet browser and go to (192.168.0.1)
On most routers this will be its set up page, you have to go to the wireless page and add your Wii's MAC # in there.

Your Wii's MAC address is located in the 'Console information' Wii page

You should just do this after your done....

1) Power on your Wii, go to the settings menu (by clicking the little Wii button in the channel menu)
2) Scroll over to 'internet settings'
3) Select 'connections', and pick 1, 2, or 3
4) In there select 'search for wireless access point'
5) Pick your router, enter your key (password) for your router if you have one.
6) Test the connection
