Display problem My IBM T30 2366 laptop felldown on the carpet from about a 2ft height when it was running and the display went away. The laptop is still ok when I use a spare monitor, I can also see the backlight in the LCD and don't see any crack or liquid leakage on the screen. Every time I start the laptop, there is a quick flicker on the screen but it goes away immediately and the screen is completely blank. Please suggest.

It's possible that you damaged the screen, but it's more likely that you knocked a connection loose. Check the screen connections on the back of the screen, screen to inverter, and screen to motherboard. In order to get to the connections you will need to remove the screen bezel or plastic piece around the screen. The bezel has screws hidden under small black sticky tabs, once the screws are removed, then the bezel snaps off. Be careful not to break the bezel at the corners. Once the bezel is off, then you will see the screws on the side that hold the screen. If the connections are good, then I'm afraid you damaged the screen.
