E115 main memory problem

My main memory seems to be fine when i use the device itself but when i try to put something on the device it says the memory is full. It will sometimes lock up after i try to transfer a program. When i move the memory adjuster thing towards the storage end (i think) it freezes too. After it freezes i have to pop out the batteries and reset the thing. Is it fixable? I would appreciate help. I was also thinking i could by a e125 with a busted screen and pop my e115 screen on it. How complicated is this and will it work? Thanx

There are several ways to solve your problems permanently. Get the largest CF card you can jusify & install all your non communication software - which will allow it - on this card & store all your datafiles on it too. Use software like Startap to access these applications dynamically. If you use CF modem the cf-card would not be available for storage by communication software. Secondly get into the habit of exiting / turning off the application you are not currently using in stead of putting them in the background as the OS normally does. Applications like Gigabar/KillMe work very well. As far as possible get into the habit of editing your information only on one device - like either the desktop or the PDA - to avoid duplication of datafiles/records. When you soft reset the device what you are essentially doing is closing all the applications running in the background.

The memory problem can be fixed easily. It is not only you. It is a common problem with some pocket pc. Instructions according to Casio Customer Service: You will have to back up all of the data. Then remove the backup battery and main battery for ten minutes. Restore all of your files and you should be back in business. Also, to prevent this from happening again and to keep program memory high, perform a soft reset at least once daily. This will almost certainly fix your problem.
