Universal remote setup codes for Toshiba TV/VCR combo are:
0260 0358
Direct Code Entry

  1. Press and hold the SETUP button until the red indicator stays on, then release the SETUP button.
  2. Press and release the desired Mode button (TV, VCR, etc.). The red indicator blinks, then stays lit.
  3. Enter the 4 digit code from the code tables. Note: after a valid code entry, the red indicator turns off. For an invalid code, the red indicator flashes.
  4. With your device on, press CHANNEL UP. If the device responds, no further programming is required. Note: If some buttons do not operate your device, try one of the other codes for your brand.

My remote won't work at all.
If no remotes work it is likely the remote receiver (ifrared and at front of set) is either dirty (lens) or bad.

A hint here is try original remote right up against the receiver--if works receiver is bad.

Note: original remote can be tested by a shop or even with most digital cameras--in a dark room the remote pointed at the camera and the lcd display will flash faintly when buttons on remote are pressed.

How to program tv manually
You need the original remote, a universal will not do this--

You direct enter a channel number and then in set's menu select in setup ADD---if auto program will not work you can direct enter channels one at a time and then add them into the memory of the set with the remote.

Have a Toshiba TV model Mv13M3. All of a sudden it turned off, with no sound and no picture and the word "line" in green on the upper rightn hand corner of the screen. Any suggestions?
Although I did not manage to find the manual for this combo set, to check it fully, it seems that maybe someone pressed the remote button marked "Input Selection" that selects each one of the audio/video inputs of the set.

Press it two or three times and check if it cycles the inputs till a TV channel shows on the screen.
