Hi,

You can do whats called a Parts Life Reset Function.

This function is used by service specialists only when changing the periodic replacements parts to clear the life counter. To operate this function, press the "Go" and "+" switches together until the menu "RESET PARTS LIFE" appears on the LCD display. Select the required item "part name", using the "+/-" switches, then press the "Set" switch.

Your fuser error should now disappear.

A reset is pointless. When a fuser does not warm up it is usually a failure of the lamp or the thermistor. Its better just to fit a new fuser.

How do you reset fuser life on a brother HL 4040cn
Press the Go and 'Up' buttons at the same time in the ready status.

The "Reset Parts Life" will appear on the LCD. Select the applicable periodical replacement part by pressing the 'Up' or 'Down' button and press the 'OK' button.
