My verifone 900 printer will just spit out extra paper when sitting idle.
This is a VERY common problem for these printer models and occurs as the terminal ages. This is caused by a faulty paper feed sensor and needs to be sent in to an authorized service center to have the sensor replaced and paper feed adjusted.
Sorry it wasn't better news, but at least it can be repaired fairly inexpensively. Good luck!

Usually answered in minutes!
Every five minutes or so the printer feeds a 1/2 to 1 inch of blank paper out. I have resorted to just turning it off when not using.
