Sometimes the locking mechanism is a red gadget on the side of the stroller and sometimes it's a bar you press on the handlebar. Good news is, it's usually red so it's easy to spot! Do you still have your manual? If not, try looking up the manual on the company's website. I don't see your make or model listed in your question, otherwise I'd try it for you. Good luck! :)

thank you My3 angels, after much fiddling I figured out that it was on the handles. I was handing it down to someone and I wanted to show her how to use it. Very much aprreciate that you tried to help :).
