You are not doing anything wrong. ?? The green light on the Braun Clean & Charge station does not mean the shaver is dirty or clean-it only shows the status of the cleaning cartridge (green = full, yellow = needs replacement soon, red = empty). The shaver itself decides the cleaning program (short, normal, or intensive) depending on how dirty it is. Even if you shave for 3-4 days, the system may still run a normal cycle, but the cartridge indicator will remain green until the fluid level gets lower. ?? In short: Green light = cartridge is fine and full (not a problem). The system will automatically clean your shaver. Just replace the cartridge when it turns red. So you are using it correctly-nothing is wrong.

The two batteries are 1.2 volts each and 2.4 volts powers the 2.4 volt DC motor. I warped the bowl for mine in the dishwasher and have since replaced it with a new food processor so would be happy to give away the useful parts (lid, pusher, blade, discs & carrier).

You can repair the shaver by replacing the batteries only if the shaver still works. If the shaver no longer does anything...will not run and light does not illuminate when plugged it, the circuit board is now bad and can not be repaired.To open the shaver, remove the two plastic screw covers on each side of the hole where the cord plugs in on the bottom of the shaver. Remove the two screws underneath. You can then slide the entire outer case off of the shaver. Be careful not to disturb the trimmer as it is extremely difficult to reattach. Inside, you will see a black inner cover. Unsnap to remove it and access the circuit board and batteries.You will find compatible batteries at shaveroutlet.com. You need two. Here is an equivalent circuit diagram good enough to repair the circuit board - What I have found is that the batteries go bad, draw too much current and blow the fuse or in the case of mine, over current the transistors. Resistors are in ohms

Check the battery voltage with a multimeter. Some charging circuits won't charge if fully depleted and that can happen in storage. nickel Cadmium had 'memory effect', Nickel Metal Hydride definitely has the charge fail problem, not sure regarding Lithium Ion, but your battery is likely NiMH due to the age. Or the charging circuit board, motherboard is faulty. Give that job to a Braun Service centre for careful diagnosis. They can swap parts in and out and not have to pay for them.

The button will be part of the control board, and needs replacing. If you can remove the base and get inside it, you may be able to clean the back of it with Electrical Switch Cleaner..
