How do I transfer files backed up on Clickfree from my old computer to a new computer.
no PCs stated nor OS. there is no answer possible (answered late) these old HDD ext do not run on newer OS than VISTA. even vista the manual tells you , backups must be tweaked. making click free a lie, In my book. and a dream failed. what I do is forget click free dream? Why is my clickfree now not backing up some of my documents?
no click free model stated at all, there are lots, 2009 to now. NO PC STATED NO OS stated at all , not a clue. XP to W10, or MAC or? windows answer. run smart tests on it first. this thing is old right? get crystalinfodisk.exe free. https://crystalmark.info/en/software/crystaldiskinfo/ run that, and point it to the USB drive. yellow or red warning is a bad drive.!!! no if's and's nor BUT's no OS stated, most those old clickfree only work on VISTA/ or Xp most are 10 years old now, and the click free IDEA was silly. it will not work on W10, that is silly for them to think this would work. but they will tell you sorry, we never dreamed of W10 in year 2009.

I have the Clickfree Automatic Backup 750GB* and I cannot retrieve previous years information
10 years old now. this HDD. and will be hard to use on all versions of windows, xp up to W10 ( all use different storage folders) and is VISTA only device, what PC? what OS?? W10? using what PC last year? using what this year,? 750GB C6 2.5" Portable HD USB 3.0? when you backup, and using w10, you must click the USB icon on the task bar , before shutting off PC, or you will lose data. taskbar right lick usb tiny ION, pick eject Udisk. if you do that you will never lose data on the external HDD you have. (ive done this 10,000 times now , no loss) this act purges the data buffers, to the EXT hDd.(cache) reading your manual now.,page 11 states

HDD external. and drag files to it or use syncbackfree v8 to keep what I wanted data synced. I had to get a Windows 10 new computer. I connected my C2 750 GB Clickfree to it to backup and it did not start up as before. How do I get it to start? Ed
Unplug external drive. Restart PC until normal. It will come back. Once back, plug in external drive. Then it is read. You cannot start(boot) PC with a live backup drive connected unless you change the boot order in your PC bios (sometimes called post). If this is not easy for you. Best to plug in after boot up.

click free used a disc and 10 years is a good length of time for a cd unit now you need to buy a clickfree that uses solid state hard drive that has no moving parts

the clickfree hard drive is the same as any other hard drive and when it fails it has lost everything there are computer shops that may be able to retrieve the data on the disc but you will have to ring around to find one try places on the net

Are thrre drivers for the clickfree hd535?
Many USB devices do need drivers, but if you computer is connected to the internet, when you connect hard drive up to your computer, it will automatically search for the correct driver and download it and install tour device, with the message (at the bottom right of your screen) 'Your new hardware is installed and ready to use'. Sometimes, devices use drivers already included with your operating system, eg WD external HDs. Some are plug'n'play - you do not need drivers. According to (3) reviews of this I have seen on Amazon, it is as easy as it seems. 22.April.2014

Data on clickfree is from my old XP, when i connect to my newer windows 7 computer, it wants me to format.
Win 7 doesn't recognize the format of XP drive. Put the Click drive on an XP machine on the network and copy files you need then format on Win 7 machine.

When you opened this enclosure, you probably noticed the harddisk inside. If it is the circuitboard of this harddrive which needs to be replaced, you should look for the manufacturer of the hardddisk (Seagate, Western Digital, Toshiba, or Samsung) , the type of harddisk and it's manufacturing date. With this data you can try to find a used harddisk at i.e. eBay.When it's just the circuitboard of the enclosure, which connects the harddisk to your USB-port of the PC, you're more lucky, since you can buy for about 15 USD a new USB-enclosure at i.e. eBay incl. shipment.

Faulty circuit board of clickfree hard drive
This is en external HDD. This means, there's a HDD inside the package, and a small PCB (print with tiny ICs on it). If you're lucky, the PCB is defective, while the HDD is OK. In that case, you only need to look for another USB Harddisk enclosure for a 2.5 inch SATA harddisk. Maybe your local computer-store sell these casings, otherwise check internet (eBay for example)To be sure it's either the HDD or the PCB, just open up the casing and remove the HDD. Insert this HDD into a PC, connecting it to the motherbord over a SATA-cable (and don't forget to use a powercable too).If the HDD becomes visible under Windows or whateven operating System you use, than it's indeed the PCB, which is defective. If the HDD is not visible, maybe the HDD is defective. In such case, you can find at internet a new(er) HDD of identical make (brand / type HDD)

Installing a program on desktop from notebook which has no disc drive.
If u hv a USB capablity then copy to usb and transfer using that. Otherwise if u hv a "cloud/web" account like Google then try transferring thru that by saving into the web and downloading from there. Blutooth transfer could also work. cheers

I'm sure the OP no longer needs to format their Clickfree C1 HD325 for use on Mac OS X, but I'll answer this question for anyone else who may need a solution.Before you begin, there are a few things that you should know about Clickfree C1 and Mac OS X compatibility:-Most Clickfree devices are compatible with Mac OS X 10.5 or higher, but there are some Clickfree C1 devices that aren't compatible with Mac OS X. If your Clickfree C1 was manufactured prior to 2009: your Clickfree C1 won't be compatible with Mac OS X. -Take a look at the label located underneath the Clickfree C1: if you see WD08xxXM (WD08 is what's important here, you can ignore the rest of the numbers/letters that follow), your Clickfree won't be Mac OS X compatible. -Formatting the Clickfree C1 using HFS+ will prevent any Windows operating system from detecting the Clickfree correctly. Try formatting the Clickfree in NTFS from a Windows computer for compatibility with both Mac OS X and Windows. Pre-requisites:-A Mac using OS X version 10.5 or better-Administrator rightsTry the following steps to format your Clickfree C1 for use on a Mac (note that this will erase the contents on your Clickfree C1):a. Using your keyboard, press the option key + command key + spacebar at the same time; a finder window will appear b. In the search field located at the top-right of the window, type: Disk Utilityc. Finder will perform a search, and will display the Disk Utility application icon; double-click on the Disk Utility. The Disk Utility application will startd. Plug your Clickfree into USB, wait a few moments for the application to recognize the Clickfreee. Click on Clickfree Backup Media from the left side of the Disk Utility window f. Select the Erase tabg. Click on the Volume Format drop-down, select: "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)"h. In the Name field, type: CF_Storagei. Click on the "Erase" button. j. Once the erasing is complete, close the applicationk. Unplug your Clickfree from USBl. Plug your Clickfree back into USB
