Hello, Roy! How about more info on your System? WHO makes it and WHAT is the model number? We may be able to help you with more specific answers? YES, that power switch is a biggie! Most computers BOOT and stuff PROGRAMS/DRIVERS and mandatory files into MEMORY. If a screen/software "Shutdown Button" was provided in the Operating System, it's ALWAYS BEST to use that! IF your programs are loaded into memory and you suddenly DISCONNECT power, you run a BIG risk of clobbering your software! So that may be a very dangerous answer... like rolling dice till you get killed. But some 'duplicators' are simple ON > LOAD > COPY switches with NO display needed? IF this is the case for you, there should be no problems disconnecting the cloner AC instead. As for the Hard Drive?? Well that's hard to say... a broad brush says ya, as long as your SOFTWARE clones over, no problem upgrading to a larger drive. I personally know of NO system that demands a specific hard drive size... not even a TIVO. Sure wish you could have been more specific! Anthony

Trying to get system setup to install. Ive formatted the harddrive and did factory reset via the onboard button but I need the default admin password. Tried all that I know of.

There are several ways to break admin password. like windows command prompt, if you know the command then you can use it otherwise you can use Recover My(windows admin) Password utility software. Thank you
