2007 Navigator. Why aren't liftgate latch and internal switch working?

On a 2007 Lincoln Navigator, if the key fob and dashboard switch still operate the liftgate but the exterior latch and interior gate switch do not, the problem is usually related to the liftgate handle switch, wiring, or the liftgate control module. Common causes include:
  • Failed exterior latch switch due to moisture or wear
  • Broken wiring near the liftgate hinges
  • Faulty interior close/open switch
  • Corrosion inside the liftgate connectors
  • Weak or failing liftgate actuator
Since the FOB and front switch still work, the main power system and actuator are probably functioning. The issue is more likely with the switches on the liftgate itself or damaged wiring leading to them. Checking the wiring harness where it bends near the top of the liftgate is a good starting point because wires often crack there over time.

2004 Navigator. Why doesn't sunroof close final 2 inches?

This is usually caused by a sunroof motor losing its calibration or a blockage in the track. Try resetting the sunroof motor by holding the close button for several seconds. If that doesn't work, check for dirt in the track or a weak motor that may need repair.

2003 Town Car. Why does A/C clutch take about 10 minutes to engage after being turned on?

the Hi/low switch is not happy. if it takes 10 minutes to get the correct pressure then it did not lie did it. the AC needs service, most cars that old the freon is low. and must be recharged of fails again in a week the leak must be found using equipment you do not have (vacuum leak down tests)

2000. Want to bypass heater core. Where are heater hoses located?

done this many a time even (panic mode far from home) the heater core can be seen as 2 tubes passing through the fire wall hood up. is it leaking the actual core, if not do not , yank hoses off forcefully. the 2 hose there connected to core aluminum tubes. well break the tubes, if not careful what I do is buy 2 new hoses, and by pass the source. and leave the old core alone. if you'd tell what engine is there>? i guess this 4.6L (281 cid) (2V) the heater core tubes, at fire wall just follow those 2 hoses to there source. drain coolant remove the 2 hoses at source end. not firewall. now buy a new hose same ID and 2ft long" and connect to the 2 sources found, it is now bypassed. top off coolant. done. done this way the next person can put it back like it was easy. just tie back old hoses. not use there. to get hoses off any core and not wreck the core. 1: cut them off saving the core 2: or buy special tools that can do that and not wreck core Nipplesss

1984. How can I remove blower motor?

no car told of 100,000 models of cars and truck. maker and model the service manual cover this. is it dead on high, if not dead you hear it spin and is easy to find it makes noise. if dead say so, fuses are first. no blown fuses in any box does the engine start and run and car drive, this is first. while it runs, is the GEN/CHARGE/BATTERY error lamp OUT it must go out started or vast things will fail and more. do any other electric things fail? (like all external lamps?) radio dead. cluster dead when you key on the cluster does a self test every day for 41 years it did, does that still work> these questions, proof if MAIN FUSES are blown, 50 amps up. or 30 amps up. even 150 amp fuses. Why is there vibration between the front tires when I slow down, then speed up?

1997 Lincoln Continental it's old it will have lots of problems.;. well all that must be tested to find the cause. a full inspection we can guess it blind and deaf here. brakes, suspension and tire balance. all come in to play. even shot wheel bearings. if suspension parts bad or worn loose make even minor tire imbalance's fail.(shakE) DOES IT IN ALL GEARS RIGHT? IF yes forget OD jive. fixing is last , diagnose first. do not use the PARTS CANON unless rich wallet. (fat) inspections take time.. and work. is this 97 in the salt belt, and RUSTED out to the max. we can't see it. EYEs on only works. 1: lug bolts loose? 2: brake parts loose cracked rotors or calipers slider seized. 3:brake hub bearings shot. (wabble wabble) or CV joints. 4: Front struts bad or that magic air bang suspension bad. failed. 5: ball joints bad. or A arms bad. to them.(bottom) 6: tie rods bad. we lever all those parts by hand with say a crow bar to find what is loose or too loose(too= skills) aka OUT OF SPEC. play. watch 20 or more YT youtube, videos on suspension checks and brakes for sure the crow bar check for excessive play or runout. the examples are ENDLESS. learn to watch and learn then take the car in for a full inspection of all I mentioned. https://youtu.be/zPG0Iu2vffw hubs are like 0.001" max play allowed on a dial indicator the SM service manual covers all this for spec , clearances and play and run out the problem will be here, if happens at all speeds and gears. or changes with throttle up or down. not just cruising learn to check that noise with light braking and steering, truns. it lessens or gets worse doing so. ? and in gears and speeds.? 1997-undefined-undefined-0.jpg https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=cars+with+loose+suspension+parts keep and open mind this old car, can be 5 things bad and some add up. some are dangerous for sure hub bearings. even brake rotors cracked or warped or OMG both and worse. the blind can not look nor flex parts. find a live real mechanic, and let him do his craft( or she)

Lincoln 175t wire feeder.

if the gun clicks and the machine powers up but the wire feeder doesn't move, the most common causes are a faulty wire feed motor, a bad control board, or a trigger switch/connection issue. Start by checking fuses, wiring connections, and motor voltage before replacing parts.

How can I remove the clips from the transmission cooler?

yes those are perplexting first time seen made by robots, using 1 time clamp 2000 Lincoln Hose Pinch Clamps a special tool put them on, and they are shrunk on as you can see. now the answer If you have a pinch clamp, it will look like a metal ring with square-shaped holes in it and a protruding metal ear. To release a pinch clamp, you can use a set of bullnose or side cutters. Here's how: - Open the jaws of the cutters and place them over the ear of the clamp, or the metal part that's projecting up from the ring. - Squeeze the cutters firmly together to snip the ear off. - Pull the ring off the hose. (and is now trash fodder) install new camps now.

2015 Mkc. Why does air conditioner blow hot air at all settings except LO?

Lincoln, MKC model, 2015 Low means what, know temp set to low Blower set to low? I get it, sure a weak AC will make colder air on low blown. there are lots of causes and lots of tests. all vents fail for cold? on high , forget low ,only HIGH matters in the summer. max cold on demand. steps to do , all. Does the AC lamp on dash glow? set to AC mode, Recirc. all vents open. is the compressor under hood bolted to engine, is the compressor clutch engaged and spins fast at engine idling.????? rules, engine not overheating if is AC is cut dead to save damage to the engine. check all fuses. Scan the OBD2 port under dash the FSM even says do that first. it will report to you HVAC errors seen. this car has huge list of possible DTC errors just for the A/C. P0532<< like this freon low error (pressure) hummmmmmmmmmmmm I really see this car has one of the most powerful diagnostics of any car I have ever seen on HVAC. check fuses scan it or get it serviced in any shop. they know what to do. and takes tools you do not have. or rent the tool and do, DIY. good luck if the compressor under hood is dead, the say so and we can work that backwards to why it is dead. top cause on all cars , the Freon R134a leaked out. P0532 DTC error set telling you it DID.

2008 Lincoln Mkz. Why does it overheat periodically?

vast reasons there are, 3.5L engine? leaks only hot means explosive stream and 265degree hot water blasting out of reservoir cap>????? yes it needs flush any car that old never serviced ever. first we test the front fans. that must com on at a stop signal In july summer, the kick only at 220F, or AC turned on. they must. F28 fuse blown? depends on engine not told but 60 or 80amp fuse here. there were 3 fan systems that year, one is full variable speed fan, and the fan is smart fan. costly. the PCM modulates that fan with 1 wire, for speed. PCM decides it all. no VIN TOLD so no magic. answers. here is my overheat list, my short list (generic for all gas engines modern water cooled) proof: first: aka as evidence, doing tests and inspections. see steam, blasting out? that is overheating. ?' Steam under hood or steam at rear of exhaust tail pipe or the dash gauge engine heat, lies or shows too hot, ? coolant blasting up violently from Radiator overflow tank, or at rad cap. dash gauge goes past 260F degrees? PID scans OBD2, ECT same.? engine Pings (deep rattle inside engine) bad this is for the engine. Engine power weaker.(now) seam blasting out of hoses or RAD core or its side tanks or steam blasting at the sides of the head gasket (from warped head) LEAKS, (coolant) or using water only for coolant , never do that. Leaks to the ground, leaks squirting from hoses. Use no sealants on hoses. RAD core leaks or its side tanks cracked and leaking. Coolant drips off head to block junction (gasket bad) seen. All coolant leaks must first be found and corrected. Leaks of coolant to front passengers toes. heater core bad or hose to it leak. more leaks. freeze plugs on sides of engine leak coolant to the ground, seen see water on the ground parked running hot. (idling for up to 30mins) see water at front passengers feet/toes.(heater core/hoses shot) leaking, look carefully. Coolant found in ENGINE OIL PAN, and looks like chocolate milk shake. Same goes for Coolant found in the A/T ATF oil pan. same look. as above (milky) Causes: In no order.,but gee simple things first. Fan belt fell off or slips/loose frayed,etc.. or bad tension-er some folks put the serp belt on wrongly routed and pump turns backwards (FAIL it will) Thermostat is bad at 7 years old. (common as nails) Running mud for coolant? ;-) for 20 years, why? Fans on front of engine or on RAD dead. or bad fan relays or controls .electric fans turn on at 220F. (par) fuses blown to them. a bad radiator cap and leaks, (a cheap easy fix)$5? Dead bugs packed in front Radiator and or A/C condenser core.(front end of car) the coolant in the RAD cores or engine block water jackets look like RED MUD,(abuse)(flush it out) do a full drain flush and refill with spec coolant. also mixing 2 kinds of coolant in 1 engine the coolant looks like JELLO , GEL up horror. Flush it all out and use only Prestone "ALL Vehicles" 50% , do not mix brands or types. Bad Radiator.(tubes inside clogged up) IR thermal gun test easy find, we check all tubes end to end if one tube or more does not act like the others , those tubes are clogged or more oddly places to leak: leaks caused by any bad gaskets that can leak coolant. (lower intake manifold leaks.) leaks coolant to engine oil pan (looks like chocolate milk-shake)(dip sticked or drained) Same thing coolant lands in the A/T tranny ATF oil pan. (bad radiator tranny cooler) some engine, this leak here runs down front or rear of engine , intake gasket bad. Engine bolts snapped.and leaks coolant, pump, etc. Bad water pump, or wrong one installed (wrong direction of belt put on wrong) the pump front shaft has a weep hole(must not leak) and a gasket to leak.(new pump and gasket time)the pump impeller of steel rusted to nothing,.oops evidence pump is bad? 5 ways to fail it can. (bearings /seal / impeller/gasket can fail or snapped bolts)FAN BELT MISSING,OR WAY LOOSE. Other things on many older engines can fail, water heated items like IAC or TB heater pipes , the larger hoses not vacuum need to be checked to all things in the path that can leak coolant. The water hoses seen and felt too get hot , all can leak. other causes." the Radiator IS BAD, both clogged or leaking. Engine block cracked Engine HEAD cracked or warped, or bad head gasket. ICE damage running only water for coolant. Engine: all water jackets full of mud (rusted up mess) Overheated heads too much and they warp and the gasket fails. Main intake pipe heater leaking, older cars had this. 1980 to 1996 hot air induction tech. not running 50% antifreeze coolant, or over 5 years old. if it looks bad it is. Old coolant turns ACIDIC. and eats things up, and fails. one top cause of overheating is not burping the coolant loop of all air. This takes skills due to vast engines use, I burp the highest point the Thermostat bleed old or jiggle pin must be UP> or it fails. False signs of overheating the dash gauge lies, because the ECT is bad or some bad boy put the wrong ECT sensor there. Oops that is very painful... ECT fails of coolant is too low and only air lands no the ECT sensor. LEGEND: TB = THROTTLE BODY RAD= ENGINE AND TRANS RADIATOR COOLER. IAC, IDLE AIR CONTROLLER VALVE ISC ,Idle speed controller. ICE = FROZEN WATER. OBD2, The USA on board diagnostic port, 1996 up, scan with a real scan tool is best. PID - as scan mode to see live sensor data. using the tool. scan the ECT first. IR gun is , tool that measures surface temperatures, and no burnt hands.Infra RED Coolant is 50% antifreeze and anti-boil 265F rated. do not mix brands, ever. Drain flush and fill and burp out all air first. Do not run any under-filled engine or risk warping the cylinder heads or worse. best way to find a leak ! is hood up, let engine idle for 30 full minutes or more and you will see the leak. Watch out for leaks that squirt to places no bad. oops. or effects of gravity and windage blowing coolant to things not bad.
