Polaris sportsman 90 will not start
Hi and welcome to FixYa,
A couple of
initial checks / tries / ideas:
- rectifier/regulator - is for the charging system of the battery; engine should start even if faulty;
- starter plunger on the carb - most likely;
- 13 volts going to the rectifier - good and should rise up as the RPM is increased;
- .2 going to the starter/plunger on the carb - should be +12, follow, backtrace the wiring;
- sparingly spray ether (starting fluid) down the carb;
- temporarily block/cover the air box inlet tube under frame;
- if it ran out of fuel, a possibility that the combustion chamber, sparkplug is lined with 2T oil inhibiting combustion.
Please postback results of initial works.
Good luck and thank you for asking FixYa.

Circuit breaker location
I have 2004 1/2 700 sportsman that had the same problem. The circuit breaker is in front of the handle bar, under the plastic cover. you will have to remove front luggage rack if you have one. Look at the wire harness and locate a plastic sealed rectangular holder about 3 inches long. It is automaticly reset when it cools down.I kept having power loss that could be restored by tapping on the plastic holder.I cut it open and found the connections corroded on the 20 amp circuit breaker inside. Seal plastic up if you cut it open to keep it from shorting out and to keep moisture out.

Where is the fuse panel on a 2004 Polaris Sportsman 700 twin?
On 2002-2004 models, the fuse panel is located on the front frame member underneath the front fender cover.
The center cover under the front rack is removed to gain access to the fuse panel as well as the radiator.
I find it easier to unplug the headlights and remove the front rack for this.

I have a 2005 Polaris 700 EFI. Recently it has
mine did the same thing & then it finaly quit running altogether...the gas gauge stoped showing in the display also. I pulled the old fuel pump out & replaced it with one out of a 97 ford areostar witch has an almost indentical pump & now the machine runs like new...and my gas gauge started showing again & I saved myself 500 bucks because the pump i used was gave to me...lol

Can't find where the fuse is on 2005 polaris 330 magnum
If you remove the Driver side palstic panel, there is a Black Pouch attached to the black wire conduit thatt you have to cut to see the 20 AMP fuse (be careful so taht you do not cut the red wires). I just did mine. You can buy it online on Amazon. Good luck.Ray
