All of a sudden my subwoofer for my home theater has a static sound.I have tried disconnecting it,leaving it unplugged for a day...nothing works...it still has static when I turn it on...it is a Mission subwoofer.
Sounds like a conection problem. disconect all the cables clean the connectors with something like deoxit or any terminal cleaner. reconnect all cables making sure to make the correct conections. If you do not have a signal ground between your sub and amp you should consider it if it is a powered sub the signal ground can go to the preamp or whatever your driving it with.

My problem is very similar except the static is sporadic and will happen even when only the receiver is the oly thing on with no tv or dvd on.
