Sounds like you either had an automatic update to the plugin which the game does not like (more so the case) and you need to disable and remove the plugin and reinstall and older version or it needs an updated version.

START - CONTROL PANEL - ADD REMOVE PROGRAMS THEN ....
First make sure you UNINSTALL the SHOCKWAVE GAME from the System... then make sure you don't already have shockwave installed on your PC. If you do... REMOVE IT! Reboot the system without either the game or the shockwave software .. once you have done that, First REINSTALL SHOCKWAVE, and upon completion of that install the game again.
Be SURE that the game does not try to install an OLDER VERSION of Shockwave with the game.

Ok, Try going to C:\windows\system32\Macromed\Flash
and running flashutil9f.exe
This worked for Internet Explorer on my computer, since I rarly use it I had not yet updated flash and ran into the same issue.
The above fixed my problems and I hope it does the same for you.
