Mecha errors usually refer to a mechanical problem. I would inspect the whole thing for any obstructions, jams, etc. Hello lawsoncl thank you for answering me, I inspected the printer, both on the right and left, there is no obstruction, I opened the upper door and even no obstruction, as I recommend to proceed. SOURCE: Mecha Error 12 on Kodak Photo 6800 printer
I had a 6850 with the Mecha error 12. No listing in the service guide for this error. I took the front of the printer off and observed that the cut head was not moving far enough to the left to trigger the sensor. I realized that a screw of unkown origin had fallen down behind the cut head and was preventing it from triggering the left sensor. It took a curved pick tool and a pair of tweezers to get it out. I don't recommend taking the cut assembly apart as the alignment is pretty crucial.

Hope this helps some poor sole from the hours of fustration that it gave me.

Mecha error 03 is a malfunction of the main pinch motor. Ninety-Five percent of the time the problem is that the motor has failed. The machine will more than likely have to be sent in for maintenance.
