BWD makes a S5029 starter solenoid but I can't find if it is 6 volt capable

have you checked the battery and had it tested? usually it is a bad battery you might want to also try to bang on the starter if you can reach it with a hammer. If it starts then it is the starter. take it off and have that tested also.
