3 ways to fix the Xbox 360 E73 error
1. Restart your console.
2. Unplug all AV cables, and also unplug the power cord from the wall socket. Once that's done, plug them all back in correctly, and put your console back on.
3. Take out the hard drive, and put your console on. If the troubleshooting error has been gone, put your console off, and get the hard drive in again. Than put your console back on.

e73 is an input/output error. Hopefully you are still under warranty. Contact Microsoft at Toll free: (800) 4MY-XBOX or (800) 469-9269. If you are outside of your warranty period, I believe they will still repair it for $99

Extended MS does not cover E73, so they won't fix for free :-(

The E73 error though is the NIC error (network), so usually shows a problem with the internet connection port, but can also be a problem with the motherboard. I have fixed the E73 issue in x360 units before, but that tends to be an error that's a real pain to sort.

Even once fixed, it usually comes back, it's really unlike any other E code error in that respect. Your cheapest option is just to get an HDMI white base unit on eBay (with no cables or anything) then just swap the white case for your black one, then sell yours on for spare parts.

My xbox 360 has shown up one red flashing light and E73
HI. This is an Ethernet port issue.

E73: General Hardware Error: Ethernet port... this error is caused by a problem with the Ethernet port. Try using a new Ethernet cord. If the error continues after the new cord is used, contact Microsoft for a repair ticket. the port will need to be replaced. (Internal connection failure)

How to fix e73 error code for xbox 360
i personally have fixed most e73 errors by replacing the xclamps, re heating all the solder on the mainboard and replacing the heatsink paste with new.

e73 errors when searched for on the net say its something to do with the ethernet port BUT ive found it to be the lead free solder on the mainboard around the ethernet port which is at fault not the port itself.

you need to search the net for 3rrod fix and you need to do this yourself or take it to a repair center if your unsure how to do it.

out of 50 e73 errors ive fixed around 49 doing what i mentioned above.

run a search for 3rrod guides on the net or youtube.

and cose 1021 is a ghost code they have no idea from what i have found out
