Security unlock code

I bought a Motorola V3M Razr phone from a friend for $100. When I turned it off and back on, it says "Enter Unlock Code", which is a 4 digit passwordI have tried every combination possible, including 1234-0000, and nothing works! I called Motorola and they want $75 to fix it and my cell phone provider can't do anything...Is there any way to get through it without paying alot of money?
