save all the data you need... then go to settings and choose restore factory settings... this case happens when the operating software wasn`t properly installed
.Jar files cannot install on the Android platform. The only mobile platform .jar files work on is BlackBerry. There was a site that claimed to convert .jar files to .apk ( an android file format) but the claim was incorrect.
Download and install Samsung Kies on your PC then connect the Tab via USB. Kies will detect the device and will automaticly notifies you on the screen if a new firmware update is available.

Even though Android is based on Java, you cannot just pop in a .jar file and play it. It needs to be in apk format, short for android package(i presume). You need to first transfer the file to your sd card and use a file manager to find it. then click + install. I suggest ASTRO (file manager)
