By "firmware" I assume that you're meaning "BIOS" here?
Not specifically familiar with SPARC or Sun software but... Pull the power cord, remove the CMOS battery, press the power button a few times...then put it all back together again after a few minutes.
That generally resets the password on any BIOS.
How to get an image with a KVT100A Black Box?
You need to run the KVT100A software on your laptop and the VGA has to connect to the KVT. You dont know whether there is video on the vga, connect a monitor to the vga port on the server and have a look. If not check server bios.
Unable to unload tape
To my knowledge most user manuals explains how to remove tapes. But if you never did this before, leave it to a service centre, because when something goes wrong, you could damage the tape. I guess you have to bring the library to a service centre. Please ask them to remove the tape and send the tape to you.
I was trained to remove all kinds of tapes from all known systems. But it is to difficult to tell this in only a few posts.
If the power comes on, just try to switch off and disconnect the mains. Then reconnect the mains cable and switch on again. If the error keeps coming back > > repair centre. The power supply is different from power supplies, you usually use in a PC, so if it is a power failure you can't solve it.
