Hi,

Try restoring back to factory default, to do so, follow the below steps: Turn OFF the computer, now as soon as you hit the power button, keep on holding "Alt" key & keep on tapping "F10" key, i.e Alt+f10, it will open the recovery console, select full factory restore and follow onscreen instruction. NOTE: This will erase all the datas on the computer.

If still the computer is not working then I am sorry to say that the Hard disk gone bad and need replacement.

System needs a reinstalled rtl100.bpl, where do

Hello,

Have you unistalled any program recently?
Maybe there are traces of that program, you need to clean up the registry, the best program (and also free) is Regseeker:
http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail/Reg…
install it
run it
clean registry
autoclean
choose "select all"
enter
when finished
maybe the problem is gone

If you unistalled something recently
go to "startup entries"
and search for anything that has a relation with the program you uninstalled

then go to "find in registry" and write rtl100.bpl
push enter
if it finds something
go down click on "select" and choose "select all"
click on "action" choose delete

reboot the computer to see if everything is gone.
good luck!

My keys are all shift_ed

Hello,

Please, if you can, try to remove the keyboard and reseat its cable on the mainboard. The AoA150 has small little clips that are mounted into the top cover that you can push back.

Also try to install USB keyboard and see how that behaves.

From your description, it might either be that one shift key is broken and perma-on, or the keyboard cable wasn't seated properly.

If all fails, try pressing in either shift-key a bit harder for a longer period, and see if the problem gets better or disappears.

RegGenie

I also installed RegGenie, as my computer system (Vista) is running really slowly, and my CPU usage is often at 100% even though I don't have much open. Apparently it found 1,122 errors, 900 of them in 'unused registry keys', so I hit the "Fix" button. I was somewhat dismayed to be informed then, and only then, that there was a $40 charge to fix. I exited, and uninstalled the program, but before the uninstallation could take place, I got a pop-up saying I could now get it for $20. I exited the popup and the program uninstalled. I then ran a MalwareBites deep scan, which told me I had one infection. A Spyware Pass... (word??) from... guess who... RegGenie!

I ran several other spyware and botwares, all of which came up clean. I still haven't solved my problem of the high CPU usage, but thought I'd share my experience of getting an infection from RegGenie.

I have Acer Aspire One A150 laptop & once i on

Try this fix….all you need is a flash drive, the BIOS files from Acer support Downloads and 10 minutes of your time.

Acer One Black Screen of Death Repair…..

In most cases the black screen of death for the Acer One is due to a bad update or corrupt BIOS. In 90% of the cases, this black screen can be cured by flashing the BIOS of the Acer One.
The first thing you will need besides the netbook is a flash drive, preferably a 1 GB version so you have plenty of room. Make sure it a flash drive and not a reader or mp3 player.
Go to the Acer support site and go to service and support and go to the drivers download section. Navigate to the exact model of your Acer One, it will be labeled on the bottom of the case. It will be something like AOA150 etc….
Once you choose the model, choose BIOS and download the latest that is listed. Save it to a folder on the desktop so you can find it later. Now find the file and unzip it to that folder. When the files are unzipped they will all be listed.
Now go to “My Computer” in the control panel and find the flash drive listed. Right click on the flash drive and scroll down to “Format”. Choose “FAT” as the format….not fat32 and not ntfs. Run the format, hit apply and accept and the flash drive will be formatted to the “FAT” file system, this will allow it to boot your computer and flash the new BIOS.
Now go to the folder that has the unzipped BIOS files. Now find the folder named…. “Dos_Flash…open this folder and you will find the file that has the version number of the BIOS files needed to flash the BIOS. Right click on this file and scroll down to “Rename”, choose rename. You have to change this file name to the following…..zg5ia32.fd
Now, copy this renamed file to the flash drive that you previously formatted and also copy the file, Flashit.exe to the drive as well. This file is in the same folder as the one you previously renamed.
Now make sure the netbook is off and is fully charged. Now connect the flash drive to any of the available USB slots. Now, press the “Fn” key and hold it as well as the “Escape” key and hold it. Hold these two down together and do not let go of them. While you are holding these two keys down, press the power button and hold it down until you see the green power indicator light comes on and starts blinking…once this happens, let go of the other buttons and observe the indicator light on the flash drive. It should also start blinking indicating files being read on the flash drive. Now, just wait up to 1-10 minutes for the BIOS to be written and flashed. If it all goes well…..the system should boot up without incident and without any data loss.

I have an Acer Aspire One 116 inch netbook and

Do what is listed below to make sure the netbook is virus and malware free.

At the end of this are three links to programs that you should load up and run. The first is MalwareBytes Ant-Malware Tool, another is Avast Anti-Virus 5.0, the third is Threatfire.
Run MalwareBytes first and perform a quick scan, when it finishes, it will ask you to show the results, click on “Show results, all infections will appear in red. Delete everything it finds.
Run Avast and install it, when it asks, go ahead and schedule a pre-boot scan of your entire system. This should get rid of most problems….Now, if you have Norton Anti-Virus, internet security or any of the others, they also be causing some of your problems. They will have to be removed and the only way to properly do that is go to the Norton site and download their Norton removal tool. Run this before installing any other kind of ant-virus. The Avast 5.0 is free to use, just register it once a year, that is all…it will update itself 2-4 times a day to keep its virus definitions constantly updated, you do not have to do anything, it is completely automated and has 7 real time scanners that run all the time.

When your boot time scan is over and you have either deleted or moved the infection to the chest as Avast recommends, now run Threatfire…it will ask you to let it update as will Malwarebytes, do so. Threatfire monitors every web page on the world wide web and lets you know if your tap dancing where you shouldn’t, it will throw a flag up and say abort connection…do so to save yourself from a bad situation. The links are below.

I tried to connect my acer one to a TV conversion

Sounds like the acer is in dual view which means it has extended the desktop across both screens...if you move the cursor to the right, it would probably appear on the external monitor. Try holding down the "Fn" key and tap the F5 key. This should toggle the Acer One through it's video settings. Tap slowly, giving the netbook time to switch video outputs, you should see eventually the desktop with icons appear on the external monitor. You may have to change the resolution, but it should work regardless.

My daughters acer one goes black after start up

Take the netbook into a dark room and see if you can see the screen. There are three possibilities here....either the screen is on and the backlight has failed or there is nothing on the screen because the inverter has failed or the screen itself has failed. If you take the netbook into a dark room and shine a flashlight on the bottom section of the screen, if you see the desktop or test etc. then the screen and inverter are good and the backlight has failed. If however you don't see anything on the screen and you are sure the laptop booted, then most likely you have lost the inverter or the screen itself.
